MY RCL BLOG

For my freshman English class I created a blog in which I talk about various topics that mattered to me. Each semester I wrote a passion blog about a topic of my choosing, and I also wrote an RCL (Rhetoric and Civic Life) post about a topic that was relevant in class. I discussed  a variety of topics through the year, but I did my best to always keep a sense of humor.

Semester I Passion: My child of divorce blog

For the first semester, I thought I would blog about some sort of adjustment that I was encountering. Given that many college students come from blended families, I thought I could blog about the entire concept. I tried to share some stories, while also providing some guidance and humor.

My very first passion blog:

Semester II Passion: Sociology 119, race and ethnic relations

For our second semester passion blog I was able to write about anything of interest to me. Seeing as I was in a race and ethnicity class through the sociology department, I decided to blog about that class and hopefully open the minds of some of my peers. I think it turned out well, and from the feedback I've gotten, I did my job!

Semester II Civic Issues: Political discourse in America

For the second half of the course, I had the option to blog about a "civic issue" that matters to me. I chose to talk about how political discourse in this country has become polarized. Throughout these four posts, I provide examples of this polarization in addition to some light humor on an otherwise serious matter.
